為什么學(xué)了這么久英語卻說不出口
中國可謂是學(xué)習(xí)英語熱情最高的國家，每個學(xué)生至少要學(xué)習(xí)六年英語（從初一開始至高中畢業(yè)），而現(xiàn)在很多學(xué)生甚至從幼兒園就開始學(xué)習(xí)英語。這種兢兢業(yè)業(yè)、踏實上進的態(tài)度使得幾乎每個中國人都能說上幾句英語。現(xiàn)在的80、90后都會說“How are you? ”“I am fine, and you? ”父輩們則會喊：“Long live Chairman Mao! ”除此之外呢？為什么我們學(xué)了這么多年英語，還是開不了口，動不了筆呢？
于是各路神仙紛紛出謀劃策，補習(xí)班應(yīng)運而生，英語學(xué)習(xí)輔導(dǎo)手冊也鋪天蓋地�？墒钦垓v了這么久，問題似乎也未能得到根本解決。問題到底出在哪里呢？為什么隨便什么老外就能說上好幾種外語？而我們?nèi)绱寺斆鞯闹袊藚s還駕馭不了一門英語？難道是中國人的語言天賦比老外稍遜一籌？可是為什么中國人一旦去了外國，英語水平就突飛猛進呢？于是很多人就說答案是因為沒有語言的環(huán)境。
語言的環(huán)境對我們產(chǎn)生的最大的改變到底是什么？這個問題就牽涉到語言背后的因素。語言就是人說的話，全世界的人都會說話，大家想表達的很多意思都是類似的。比如說大家都會說：我餓了，我要睡覺，我愛你之類�？墒侨澜绲娜擞质遣灰粯拥模灰粯釉谑裁吹胤�？在思維！思維決定了我們怎么說話，怎么用不同的句子表達同一種意思。為什么學(xué)了久的英語，說出來的話還是不地道呢？根本原因在于中英思維的'不同。
中文是典型的動詞思維，我們平時在馬路上隨處可見的標語就可以看出這一點，比如：“搞好計劃生育，創(chuàng)建和諧社會”。而英語卻是名詞思維，以中英公式語為例：
禁止吸煙 No Smoking!
禁止亂扔垃圾 No Littering!
路上結(jié)冰 Icy Road!
小心觸電 Danger! High Voltage!
這一點在中英俗語里也很明顯，比如：中國人說“酒后吐真言”，而英國人卻說 “Truth lies at the bottom of decanter.”中文用動詞說明問題，英語卻是用狀態(tài)。
中文偏愛動詞，中國人的思維也是動詞化思維，所以在寫作中，即便掌握了各種語法知識，學(xué)生們寫出來的句子也是中式英語，那是因為無法跳出動詞式思維，變?yōu)槊~式思維。如何轉(zhuǎn)換思維，寫出地道的句子呢？新概念三冊，這本堪稱寫作葵花寶典的教材能給我們不少啟示。比如：
官員小心翼翼得把箱子檢查了一遍。
常見寫法：The officer checked/examined the case carefully.
新概念三冊：The officer went through the case with great care.
這種用with+N.來代替副詞的用法很常見，也很實用。比如：
她高興地打開生日禮物。
She happily opened her birthday present.
改為：She opened her birthday present with delight.
溫總理微笑著和病人們握手。
Premier Wen smilingly shook hands with the patients.
改為：Premier Wen shook hands with the patients with a smile.
這種想法很真實。
常見寫法：This idea is very true.
新概念三冊：There is a good deal of truth in this idea.
學(xué)生都知道There be結(jié)構(gòu)，但是通常只用于指具體事物，例如：There is a boy beside the door.但是there be顯然還可以用于抽象概念，比如：
她的表情很痛苦。
Her facial expression is painful.
改為：There is much pain in her facial expression.
他深情地看著她。
He looked at her with affection.
改為：There was affection in the way he looked at her.
她使人們回憶起歷史上的巨型帆船。
常見寫法：She reminds us of the great ships of the past.
新概念三冊：She serves as a reminder of the great ships of the past.
Serve as也很好用，會使句子顯得很正式，在新聞中很常見。學(xué)生們?nèi)裟茉趯懽髦屑右赃\用，句子一下子就出彩了。比如：
《論語》這本書能指導(dǎo)我們的生活。
The Analects of Confucius can guide our life.
改為：The Analects of Confucius can serve a guide in our life.
這場災(zāi)難警醒我們要保護環(huán)境。
This disaster warns us that we should protect the environment.
改為：This disaster serves as a warning to us that we should protect the environment.
有了新概念的提醒，同學(xué)們在閱讀中多個心眼，就能發(fā)現(xiàn)不少地道的名詞化表達了，舉幾個例子：
The Wall Street suffered terribly after the outbreak of financial crisis.
The White House said the release of what it called “stolen cables” to several publications was a “reckless and dangerous action”.
This book is a careful study of the power struggle between the warring states.
The prospect of the collapse of the bipolar international system encouraged the nations all over to work together for a better world of peace and prosperity.
所謂“師傅領(lǐng)進門，修行靠自身”，新概念是學(xué)生了解地道英語的鑰匙，有了這把鑰匙，阻礙英語學(xué)習(xí)的大門就會打開，以后的學(xué)習(xí)之路雖不會暢通無阻，但至少也能免去不少阻力。最后，還是想說英語很重要，你會說嗎？English is important? 還是 English is of great importance?
